Where In The World Am I ?

It took me six hours to get there by train from my home but it was really worth it as it's such a nice place to visit. It's a real contrast to London because there are hardly any houses or shops. You can walk along country lanes to get to the beach with only the cows, pigs and horses from the farm next door to keep you company!
When I got there I was relieved that the train journey was over because I was getting quite bored of sitting down for six hours. Later on in the day I went to the coast with my wetsuit and my bogey board. The waves were huge in the sea and I nearly got drowned because one wave was so big that it went right over my head and it practically smothered me. Actually, I think I swallowed half of it !
Anyway I had a fab time there and now I'm looking forward to the next part of my holiday which is in Holland and Germany. So tune in later to find out where I am........
CYCLONE RIDE
Just had time to have a go on this fairground ride at London's Southbank. It's totally awesome! But maybe a little scary in places especially when you're at the top hanging over the edge looking down at the ground below. At times you are nearly level with the trains rushing past you on the overland bridge into Waterloo station.
AMSTERDAM
Amsterdam is the largest city and capital of the Netherlands. I really liked it because I got to go on a tandem bike. Even though I spent most of the time looking at the back of my mum's head! Only joking I actually sat in front of her which gave me lots of chance to look around. By the way they have very good playgrounds in Amsterdam.
We went to house that Anne Frank hid in during the second world war and wrote her diary at. Although it was really sad, at the end of the exhibition there is a video clip where Anne's dad says that the museum was a way of remembering her and helping people not to hopefully ever let such a terrible war from happening again. It was cool when you could open the bookshelf and see where Anne Frank hid. She must of been very scared during all off it.
BERLIN
For three days I stayed in a hotel, right next to Check Point Charlie. This is the place in Berlin where the Americans were going to hold a battle with the Russians after the second world war. Instead the Russians built a wall through Berlin which divided it in half; this was called the Berlin wall. The people who lived on the east of the city were controlled by the Russians; the west of the city was controlled by the Americans, British and French. Fortunately, in 1989 the wall came down and the east of Berlin became unified with the rest of Germany. Now you can just see some small parts where the wall has been; black tiles laid on the floor in a line represent where the wall once stood. I found it really interesting to see the actual wall and I'm so glad it came down ! ( Thumbs Up!)
The Black Forest
I also stayed in a place called Freiberg with my dad's friend who works at the university. The weather was really hot and I spent most of the time cooling off in an open air pool nearby. I also took a cable car ride into the mountains above the forest which was really scary as it was so high up.
I had a great time in Germany and I would recommend it as a place to visit.
