Stratford, Olympic Park

Had an amazing day at the Olympic Park

The best thing I saw was 'Murderball'; now known as wheelchair rugby.
It is a fast and furious game where each team has to try and grab the ball and wheel it across the line of the opposition. The Team members try to defend by blocking, ramming into each other and even knocking the opposing team over! This usually leads to a one minute time out in the' sinbin'. I was in awe of the athletes involved as it looked so violent. Also, they could manoeuvre so quickly around the arena using a chair that spun on a 360 degree angle sometimes weaving through the defenders and powering the ball over the line. WOW!!!!

Where In The World Am I ?

For the last 10 days I have been staying in sunny West Wales with my Nan and Grampy in a caravan in the Manorbier area. You can find it on the map!

It took me six hours to get there by train from my home but it was really worth it as it's such a nice place to visit. It's a real contrast to London because there are hardly any houses or shops. You can walk along country lanes to get to the beach with only the cows, pigs and horses from the farm next door to keep you company!

When I got there I was relieved that the train journey was over because I was getting quite bored of sitting down for six hours. Later on in the day I went to the coast with my wetsuit and my bogey board. The waves were huge in the sea and I nearly got drowned because one wave was so big that it went right over my head and it practically smothered me. Actually, I think I swallowed half of it !

Anyway I had a fab time there and now I'm looking forward to the next part of my holiday which is in Holland and Germany. So tune in later to find out where I am........

   CYCLONE RIDE
Just had time to have a go on this fairground ride at London's Southbank. It's totally awesome! But maybe a little scary in places especially when you're at the top hanging over the edge looking down at the ground below. At times you are nearly level with the trains rushing past you on the overland bridge into Waterloo station.

AMSTERDAM

Amsterdam is the largest city and capital of the Netherlands. I really liked it because I got to go on a tandem bike. Even though I spent most of the time looking at the back of my mum's head! Only joking I actually sat in front of her which gave me lots of chance to look around. By the way they have very good playgrounds in Amsterdam.

We went to house that Anne Frank hid in during the second world war and wrote her diary at. Although it was really sad, at the end of the exhibition there is a video clip where Anne's dad says that the museum was a way of remembering her and helping people not to hopefully ever let such a terrible war from happening again. It was cool when you could open the bookshelf and see where Anne Frank hid. She must of been very scared during all off it.

                                                                                                 BERLIN

For three days I stayed in a hotel, right next to Check Point Charlie. This is the place in Berlin where the Americans were going to hold a battle with the Russians after the second world war. Instead the Russians built a wall through Berlin which divided it in half; this was called the Berlin wall. The people who lived on the east of the city were controlled by the Russians; the west of the city was controlled by the Americans, British and French. Fortunately, in 1989 the wall came down and the east of Berlin became unified with the rest of Germany. Now you can just see some small parts where the wall has been; black tiles laid on the floor in a line represent where the wall once stood. I found it really interesting to see the actual wall and I'm so glad it came down ! ( Thumbs Up!)

The Black Forest

I also stayed in a place called Freiberg with my dad's friend who works at the university. The weather was really hot and I spent most of the time cooling off in an open air pool nearby. I also took a cable car ride into the mountains above the forest which was really scary as it was so high up.

I had a great time in Germany and I would recommend it as a place to visit.

The Trojan Horse at The Scoop

Last night I went to see some amazing street theatre at the venue The Scoop More London. It was the Greek tale of the Trojan Horse which describes the story of how the Spartans entered the city of Troy, hidden inside a massive wooden horse so that they can rescue Helen who has been kidnapped by the Trojan warrior Paris.

The theatre production was really family friendly and I loved every minute of it. It was so great sitting in the open air watching the show, being really closely seated to the rest of the audience,
eating my tea on my lap !

There was a great atmosphere and my best bit was when the slave sang a song about how the Greeks never did anything for him, most of the children were able to take part in certain parts of the play and I liked it when the actors assembled  the Horse's head out of props that were hidden around the stage.

By the way it was free to attend so get yourself down  to The Scoop!

This is the best save in the world I believe. Do you?
The team that took the shot were England.

The keeper that saved the ball from going in is Rene Hagita.

Check out this mad tackle.
This tackle saved Cameroon from losing the finals.

 Cable Car

At the weekend I took the chance to travel on the newly opened cable car that transports pedestrians between the Royal Dock in Woolwich to the O2,Greenwich. This was a amazing experierice, however,it is not for the faint-hearted! It was not the fact that during the ascent to the  top most point you feel a lot of

bumps  and hear some slightly scary noises which may make you fear for your life. But, more the queue to get a ticket and then a second queue to actually get into the car pod !However, once inside I have to say I really enjoyed every minute of the ride across the Thames. From my viewpoint I could see the Olympic buildings and all of the river traffic going along the Thames. I took the 360 tour which meant I didn't need to get off at the other end. I would definately recommend this as a form of transport- but just make sure you get an Oyster card to 'click in' and then you can beat the queue of tourists at the ticket gate.

Ghost Hunter is the sixth and final book in the series of Chronicles Of Ancient Darkness.  In this book the last Soul Eater remains alive and she has the 'Fire Opal'. Torak has to find her and kill her but the Fire Opal makes her invincible! Also, Wolf finds a mate and has cubs but Wolf's family is murdered as one of his cubs dies and his mate dies as well. At times I didn't want to read this book because it can be very sad.

As Torak is on his journey the Soul Eater creates a pack of evil hounds that try to kill Torak as he tries to find her. He travels to the mountains where he meets a boy called Dark who has a white Raven. Dark can also see ghosts that are around him. These are the ghosts of people who have died in the past and they prove to be useful in the hunt for the Soul Eater.

As ever, in this series the book is very exciting and the conclusion to an epic adventure . I think you should read it and find out if Torak will stop the Soul Eater before she is fully invincible and takes over the forest?

Read the book to find out.
